Greetings backpackers! It is May, and our calendar, like the trails around us, is blooming with great trips!
First up, some news to share about changes to our co-organizer line-up. Kylie, who many of you know from the great trips she’s led, is joining the co-organizer ranks. We’re excited to have her as part of the DC UL leadership team. Join us in congratulating her.
And, also join us in thanking Matt, Evan, and Jimmy, who’ve been mainstays as co-organizers but will now be joining the assistant organizer ranks. We’ve benefited immensely from their leadership—so make sure to give them a thank you the next time you see them!
Curious about getting more involved in DC UL as an assistant organizer? Reach out to me or to any of the co-organizers. We’d be happy to answer any questions.
Events on deck –
- There are just a few spaces left for Sunday’s (5/5) route-finding 101 class. Make sure to grab your spot before it is too late!
- And there are still spots available for the LM trip on May 11-12 to Duncan Knob and Strickler Knob. Applicants, this is your chance!
- Finally, don’t forget about our Wilderness First Aid class for the weekend of May 18-19. We supply lunch and snacks, and you get the opportunity to get your WFA certification!
