PRIVACY POLICY
The Site may collect two types of information about you: Personally Identifiable Information and Aggregate Information that is anonymous (such as your IP address – a number used to identify your computer when you are on the Internet – or the type of browser you are using).
Personally Identifiable Information refers to information that lets us know the specifics of who you are and can be used to identify, contact or locate you (such as your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address). You can visit the Site without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself.
Like many websites, we use “cookies.” If you do not want us to use cookies, you can easily disable them by going to the toolbar of your web browser, and clicking on the “help” button. DC UL uses this information to compile data on use of our Site and to keep in contact with users. We may use your information specifically for the following purposes:

PHOTO POLICY
DC UL uses still and video images to promote our organization, our activities, and our community. These images may be be used on DC UL-produced online and print materials, including social media, websites, e-communications, brochures, posters, flyers, graphics, videos, or other multimedia communications developed to promote our organization. This Image Use Policy governs still or motion images captured by DC UL members during organized DC UL activities.
As a participant in DC UL events, you have a right to opt out of inclusion in photographs or other media, but unless a written notification is provided to the DC UL event host or the DC UL organizer 24 hours in advance of your participation in a DC UL activity, your participation in DC UL activities implies permission for the use of images taken at those events. Individuals who have submitted this written notification should endeavor to alert photographers at DC UL events so they are not accidentally captured in crowd shots.
By uploading your images to the DC UL Meetup site, website, or other DC UL properties, you are giving permission for DC UL to share your images on DC UL-produced materials, as referenced above, unless written notification is given to the DC UL organizer in advance of you posting these images publicly on the DC UL website or the DC UL Meetup site.
DC UL will never post images with identifying information of those depicted in the image such as name, email address, address, or social media handles. DC UL will credit the photographer by first name but will not post any additional identifying information, such as last name, email address, address, or social media handles. No special compensation is provided to any individual included in images taken at DC UL events nor to anyone who takes photos at DC UL events. DC UL does not contact individuals to notify them if or when their images is used by DC UL.
This opt-out form does not apply to photos that might be taken and used by others who attend the event.
REUSE POLICY
All original written content on DC UL’s website and Meetup site is protected by copyright as a collective work or compilation under the copyright laws of the United States and other countries. You must abide by all additional copyright notices or restrictions contained in any materials produced by or for DC UL.
You may share, republish, translate, excerpt, or otherwise display our written content on the condition that you attribute those materials to DC UL and the author, if applicable, and provide a link to the DC UL website (www.dculbackpacking.com). Specifically, any article or materials that you reproduce must be displayed by using one of the following attribution lines:
“This article was originally published by DC UL Backpacking (www.dculbackpacking.com).”
