travel light, wake early, walk far
Over dinner, we decided to schedule an extra-early start so we could hit Old Rag’s ridge at sunrise on Sunday. Night (pre-dawn?) hiking was new for a lot of people, and definitely a bit unusual for an LM, but we were eager to have the scramble to ourselves.
Overall, this trip was a nice welcome back to the mid-Atlantic mountains. It was great to catch up with so many friendly faces and enjoy the fantastic spring weather!

It turns out that the Yetimen are real, and they were having their annual campout! There was a short walk to Birch Run shelter and it was PACKED! It felt like we were out on 4th of July.
As night fell, the group stayed warm and comfy surrounding the fire while sharing good conversation, spirits, and desserts.
